The Arab World Institute is a Paris-based organization dedicated to promoting the Arabic culture and civilization.
Established in 1980, the Institute was founded as a result of an agreement between 18 Arab countries and France.
It houses a museum, library, auditorium, and offers Arabic language courses.
The institute's rooftop terrace provides a panoramic view of Paris.
Its southern wall is made up of mechanical photo-sensitive apertures that open and close based on exterior light levels.
