Château de Baronville, Louis XIII style castle in Béville-le-Comte, France.

Château de Baronville is a Louis XIII style castle situated on an expansive estate between Paris and Chartres, displaying classical architecture with balanced proportions and multiple lakes. The property now serves as a venue for receptions, seminars, and various events, equipped with private parking.

The site was first built around 1300, and the current structure represents the third castle constructed here, completed by architect Léon de Sanges in 1868. This major redesign during the 19th century transformed the appearance and scale of the property.

The estate functioned as a military hospital during World War I under Catherine de Clermont-Tonnerre's direction, shaping the region's wartime experience. Later, German air force units occupied the grounds, marking another significant chapter in its past.

Plan your visit during pleasant weather to enjoy the lakes and grounds to their best advantage, as the landscape benefits greatly from good light and clear conditions. The nearby Auneau train station, located about 5 kilometers away, provides convenient access for those traveling without a car.

The construction workers who built this castle also contributed to the roofing of Mont-Saint-Michel and the Statue of Liberty, connecting the site to two globally famous monuments. This shared workforce heritage links the property to remarkable engineering achievements of the era.
