Église Saint-Rémy d'Oinville-sous-Auneau

This church is a Romanesque building with a western facade that features two arched doorways and a large circular window. Carved stone brackets decorate the roof edges and give the structure its distinctive appearance.

The building was constructed between the 11th and 12th centuries on the site of an earlier Christian place of worship near an old Celtic spring. This long history shows how the church endured through different periods.

The interior displays religious statues and paintings from the 1800s that reflect Christian life and beliefs of that era. These artworks remain central to how the space feels today.

The building is open Tuesday through Sunday and can accommodate about 400 people inside. Access is straightforward as the church sits in the center of the village.

A black marble stone with sketched portraits of four Michenet family members from 1612 is protected as a historical monument. This rare burial marker shows a form of art that is seldom preserved with such detail.
