Sautadet Falls, Natural waterfall formation in La Roque-sur-Cèze, France.

Sautadet Falls is a series of cascades where the Cèze River flows through limestone rock, creating drops reaching about 15 meters at various points. The formation extends across an area where the river continuously carves through the stone, creating different depths and widths.

The geological structures formed over millions of years as water gradually eroded the calcium-rich rock formations in southern France. This slow process created the waterfalls and their characteristic shape seen today.

Locals call certain sections the Devil's Jump, a name that reflects the dangerous currents found there. This naming shows how the waterfalls have shaped local stories and identity over time.

Swimming at the waterfalls is forbidden due to strong currents, but visitors can safely enjoy water activities at a designated beach downstream. Wearing comfortable shoes is recommended as the rocks can be wet and slippery.

Water movement has carved cylindrical cavities into the rocks over centuries, forming natural pools through the continuous tumbling of pebbles. These pools exist only because of this slow, natural sculpting process.
