Chinon Nuclear Power Plant

The name refers to the nearby town, while the museum's spherical building reflects a bold 1960s vision of the future. Visitors can walk through the preserved control room with its original equipment and early reactor technology on display.

Visits to the museum are possible by appointment, as the site operates under strict security protocols. Guests should allow extra time for checks at the entrance and bring valid identification.

The cooling towers were built lower than usual to reduce their impact on the Loire Valley skyline. This adjustment shows an effort to balance technical necessity with respect for the surrounding countryside.
