Boulevard Barbès, Commercial boulevard in 18th arrondissement, Paris, France

Boulevard Barbès is a wide street about 835 meters long that cuts through the Clignancourt and Goutte d'Or districts, lined on both sides with shops, restaurants, and various businesses. The street opens to 30 meters across and connects several major routes through these neighborhoods.

The boulevard was created in 1867 during Baron Haussmann's reshaping of Paris, designed to connect Boulevard de la Chapelle with Rue Ordener. This project brought areas that were once separate villages into the expanding city.

This street is where people from many backgrounds shop, work, and gather every day in one of Paris's most diverse neighborhoods. You see shops selling goods from around the world, restaurants, and cafés where locals and visitors mix naturally throughout the day.

The boulevard is easy to walk along, with continuous sidewalks and shops to browse as you go. The Barbès-Rochechouart Metro station sits right at the street, making it simple to reach by public transport.

Metro Line 2 crosses over the street on a metal viaduct near Barbès-Rochechouart station, creating a distinctive landmark that defines the area. This elevated structure is visible from everywhere and gives the boulevard its unmistakable appearance.
