Quartier des Épinettes

Quartier des Épinettes is a residential neighborhood in Paris's 17th arrondissement, positioned between Boulevard Bessières to the north and Rue des Dames to the south. The area consists mainly of apartment buildings and local shops serving everyday community needs.

The name Épinettes first appeared in 1693, referring to grape varieties or brambles that grew on the agricultural land. The area later transformed from farmland into a densely populated residential district.

The Saint-Joseph-des-Épinettes Church shapes the neighborhood's religious character since the early 1900s. It remains a gathering place for residents and reflects the spiritual roots of this residential area.

The neighborhood is well served by metro line 13 and multiple bus routes, with stations distributed throughout the district. This good transportation network makes it easy to navigate the area and reach central Paris.

The Cité des Fleurs was established in 1847 and attracted artistic residents in the 1800s, including impressionist painter Alfred Sisley. This small artist community shows how the area drew creative people from its early days.
