Barrière du Trône, colonne à Paris

Barrière du Trône was a neoclassical tollbooth that once stood at the eastern edge of Paris, serving as a checkpoint for goods entering the city. The structure formed part of the city's wall system and controlled traffic flow through this part of town.

The gate was built as part of the Farmers General wall system in the 18th century to control goods moving in and out of Paris. It was demolished during later urban renovations and now exists only in historical records.

Since the gate no longer stands, visitors can explore its location through walking tours or historical records of the neighborhood. The area remains accessible with good public transport connections throughout this eastern district.

The precise location of this tollbooth still shapes the street layout of the neighborhood today, even though the gate itself is long gone. This spatial echo shows how past control points left their mark on the modern city's design.
