Château de Bourbilly, Vic-de-Chassenay

Château de Bourbilly is a castle featuring four buildings arranged around a square courtyard in the heart of Burgundy. The complex includes several reception halls and a chapel decorated with Venetian glass chandeliers.

Built in the 13th century, the castle remained under just four families across nine centuries of history. It suffered partial destruction during the French Revolution but was restored in the mid-1800s.

The name comes from the Bourbilly family who shaped the property for centuries, and visitors can sense their presence throughout the rooms and their way of life.

The Erard family, known for their pioneering work in piano manufacturing, took over the property and undertook a major restoration. Today visitors can see how this effort brought the castle back to prominence after the damage it had suffered.
