Château de Monthelie, Medieval castle in Monthelie, France.

Château de Monthelie is a stone castle surrounded by roughly 10 hectares of vineyards, located in Burgundy's Côte d'Or region between Volnay and Meursault. The estate produces both red and white wines using Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes grown on its grounds.

The castle was rebuilt in 1746 by the Brunet family, who held it for 150 years before other families took control. The de Suremain family acquired the estate in 1903 and continues to operate it today.

The de Suremain family has made this place a center of winemaking, where you can watch people harvesting grapes and working in the cellars throughout the year. The property moves to the rhythm of wine production, with activities changing with each season.

You can visit the estate at 14 Grande Rue in Monthelie to arrange wine tastings and guided tours. The property is accessible on foot and overlooks the surrounding vineyards.

The cellars beneath the castle have continuously stored wine barrels since 1746, playing a key role in the aging process. These underground chambers have supported generations of winemakers in creating Burgundy wines.
