The stone castle stands between Volnay and Meursault villages in Burgundy's Côte d'Or region, surrounded by 10 hectares of vineyards producing quality wines.
The castle was rebuilt in 1746 by the Brunet family and remained in their possession for 150 years before passing through several families until the Suremain acquisition in 1903.
The de Suremain family maintains traditional winemaking methods, cultivating Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes across their estate certified for organic production since 1996.
Visitors can schedule wine tastings and tours at 14 Grande Rue in Monthelie, where the estate presents their selection of Monthelie and Rully Premier Cru wines.
The castle's cellars have continuously stored wine barrels since 1746, contributing to the aging process of the estate's Burgundy wines through generations.
