Château de Montméry, Medieval castle in Ambazac, France.
The castle features two perpendicular wings, with the east wing serving as the principal building, incorporating Romanesque, Gothic, and Renaissance architectural elements.
Theodore Haviland, an American porcelain manufacturer, purchased the estate in 1883 and commissioned architect Richard Morris Hunt to design the current structure.
The castle grounds preserve the remains of an 11th-century motte castle, representing one of the most intact medieval fortifications in Haute-Vienne.
The castle maintains protected status for its facades, roofs, entrance hall, and central staircase under French historical monument regulations.
The landscaped park, designed by Frederick Law Olmsted between 1889 and 1890, contains over 100 tree species from different continents.
