Château de Mézens, Medieval castle and historic monument in Mézens, France
The castle features a 25-meter tower with battlements and machicolations, standing prominently above the village in the Tarn department of France.
First documented in 1203, the castle underwent substantial renovations following a fire in 1568, with major restoration work completed between 1619 and 1622.
The French government designated the castle facades, roofs, painted cabinet room, and former orangery as protected historic monuments in 2005.
Located at 5132 La Placette in Mézens, this private residence requires specific permission for visits and maintains restricted access areas.
The Solages family purchased the castle in 1808 through Gabriel-Hippolyte de Solages and continues to own the property to this day.
