Château de Pesselières, Medieval castle in Jalognes, France.

The Château de Pesselières features a U-shaped architecture with moats, defensive towers, and a fixed bridge that replaced the original drawbridge.

First documented in 1170, the Pesselières estate belonged to the Livron family and served as a critical defensive structure in the Sancerre County.

The estate maintains organic gardening practices, excluding the use of herbicides and pesticides to preserve the natural environment.

Visitors can explore the castle and its gardens from May through September, Wednesday to Sunday, with special events during summer months.

A maze consisting of more than 900 hornbeam trees was established in front of the eastern facade of the castle in 2009.
