Château d'Écoublay, Castle in Fontenay-Trésigny, France.

Château d'Écoublay is a stone castle in Fontenay-Trésigny featuring a symmetrical facade with large windows and a central entrance. The building sits within gardens and wooded grounds that extend around the property.

The castle was built in the 17th century and enlarged in the 19th century, initially belonging to the Courtenay family. It later passed to the Montceaux lineage.

From 1951 to 2000, Italian Scalabrinian monks inhabited the castle, transforming it into a center for religious seminars and international exchanges.

The property now serves as a venue for corporate seminars and meetings. Visitors should plan ahead since it is not regularly open to the public.

An additional wing was built specifically to house a monumental painting by Eugène Delacroix titled 'The Death of Sardanapalus'. This artwork shaped the estate's architecture in an unusual way.
