La Chaire a Calvin, Prehistoric rock shelter in Mouthiers-sur-Boëme, France.
The limestone shelter measures 8 meters wide, 4 meters high, and 5 meters deep, containing significant Magdalenian period archaeological findings and wall carvings.
Alphonse Trémeau de Rochebrune discovered this archaeological site in 1864, followed by extensive excavations led by Pierre David in 1924.
The shelter contains wall sculptures depicting horses and a headless bovine, representing artistic expressions from the Upper Paleolithic Magdalenian period.
The archaeological site stands near the former paper mill buildings and can be reached via the D.12 road at coordinates 45° 33′ 19″ N, 0° 06′ 57″ E.
Researchers identified multiple stratigraphic layers containing Magdalenian tools, bone implements, and shell necklaces indicating ancient trade networks.
