Lac du Bourdon, Artificial reservoir in Saint-Fargeau, France

The Bourdon Lake extends over 220 hectares with a length of 3 kilometers and a maximum width of 500 meters in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region.

The lake was constructed in 1901 to serve as a reservoir for the Briare Canal, marking a significant development in French waterway infrastructure.

The Daniel Bailly recreation center maintains local traditions through activities such as archery and canoeing, connecting visitors with regional sports.

Two free parking areas serve the lake, one in the north near La Calanque campground and another in the south next to the Lake Restaurant.

The horseshoe-shaped water body contains a substantial population of common carp, drawing fishing enthusiasts from across France to its waters.
