Lac du Crescent, reservoir in France

Lac du Crescent is an artificial lake located in Marigny-l'Église, surrounded by dense woodlands and rolling terrain. The body of water serves as a major reservoir for the region and can be explored by visitors from multiple vantage points along its shoreline.

A dam was constructed between 1930 and 1933, transforming the valley into a major water storage facility for the region. This engineering project significantly shaped local development and resource management.

Fishing is a central activity for local visitors, with many coming to try their luck catching pike and pike-perch. The tradition reflects how the water has become woven into the daily rhythm of the surrounding communities.

A hiking trail circuits the lake, starting from the village area and offering multiple entry points for visitors. The terrain is generally accessible, though some sections can be muddy after rain.

The lake receives water from three separate rivers that flow into it from different directions. This multiple water source system makes it an essential part of how the region manages its water supply.
