Lake Chaumeçon covers 135 hectares in the Morvan region, surrounded by wooded hills and presenting a reflective surface at 388 meters above sea level.
The dam construction from 1931 to 1933 under Miguel Bouttry's supervision transformed this valley into an essential water reservoir for the region.
The lake path extends 17 kilometers along the western shore, allowing hikers to discover the natural heritage of the surrounding landscape.
Visitors can enjoy fishing, kayaking, paddleboarding, packrafting, and access multiple picnic areas positioned around the water surface.
The lake features Lorm'à vélo cycling routes and themed trails such as the Montour meadows path in the Chalaux valley.
