Musée Hébert

Musée Hébert is an art museum housed in a mansion set on a 2.5-hectare property and displays 19th-century paintings alongside contemporary artworks in its various rooms. The building functions as a residence with restored interiors where the collections blend naturally within the historical setting.

Ernest Hébert, a French painter, acquired the property and shaped it according to his vision, living there from 1817 until 1908. After his death, the house and his collection opened to the public and have served since as a record of his life and artistic output.

The name comes from Ernest Hébert, a French painter whose works are displayed alongside rotating exhibitions of contemporary art. Both old and new creations share the rooms and outdoor spaces, encouraging visitors to compare different artistic approaches.

The museum welcomes visitors Wednesday through Monday from 10:00 to 18:00, with free entry available to all. Guided tours can be arranged in advance to help you understand the house's story and the art on display.

The gardens serve as exhibition space for large-scale sculptures by various contemporary artists displayed throughout the grounds. These installations, featuring oversized everyday objects, turn the landscape into an open-air gallery that unfolds as visitors walk through the property.
