Testavoyre, Volcanic mountain viewpoint in Queyrières, France
The Testavoyre mountain rises to 1436 meters in the Monts du Velay range, featuring numerous volcanic rock formations called sucs around its summit.
The geological formation of Testavoyre resulted from volcanic activity during the formation of the Monts du Velay region millions of years ago.
Local hiking communities regularly organize guided excursions to Testavoyre's summit, sharing knowledge about the regional volcanic landscape and natural heritage.
The hiking trail starts near the Nordic ski chalet at Quatre Routes crossroads and follows yellow markings along with white and red GR 40 trail signs.
From the summit's horizontal ridge, visitors can observe a complete panorama including the Alps, Mont Mézenc, Pilat, and the Forez mountains.
