Built in 1206 as a fortified house, the castle underwent major transformations between 1624 and 1626 under architect Gratien de Lerm from Cadillac.
The first floor reception hall contains a decorated coffered ceiling and a large carved wooden fireplace, displaying French aristocratic interior design.
The Department Council of Landes maintains the castle, offering guided tours in French and providing parking facilities for cars and buses.
The northern facade reveals an additional floor due to the natural slope of the terrain, creating an asymmetrical architectural composition.
