Château d'Omonville, Historic castle in Le Tremblay-Omonville, France.

Château d'Omonville is a classical country house in Normandy with an impressive southern facade. This features around thirty windows and dormers, along with a grand staircase decorated with wrought iron railings inside.

The castle was built starting in 1754 under architect Gabriel le Chartier for Robert Le Carpentier des Longvaux, a master of forges. This period reflected economic prosperity driven by metal production in the region.

The castle served as a gathering place for musical meetings and visits from artists like composer Francis Poulenc, who spent time here with family members. Its role as a private meeting point for creative people shaped its reputation across generations.

The castle can be reached by phone to ask about visiting conditions and opening hours. Planning ahead is recommended since access may depend on current arrangements and schedules.

Since 1969 the castle has housed the Grand Lodge of the French-speaking Jurisdiction of the Order of the Rosy Cross. This modern use connects the classical mansion with spiritual and esoteric traditions.
