Château d'Omonville

Château d'Omonville is a classical country house in Normandy with an impressive southern facade. This features around thirty windows and dormers, along with a grand staircase decorated with wrought iron railings inside.

The castle was built starting in 1754 under architect Gabriel le Chartier for Robert Le Carpentier des Longvaux, a master of forges. This period reflected economic prosperity driven by metal production in the region.

The castle served as a gathering place for musical meetings and visits from artists like composer Francis Poulenc, who spent time here with family members. Its role as a private meeting point for creative people shaped its reputation across generations.
