Château de Saint-Aubin-d'Ecrosville

Château de Saint-Aubin-d'Écrosville is a 17th-century structure built with red brick and stone, flanked by two lower wings. In the 1860s, gardens and stables were added to expand the property's layout and function.

The castle was built around 1640 for the Leroux family and sold in 1688 to Geneviève Pavyot de Villette. Her descendants have maintained ownership and shaped the property's evolution ever since.

The interior displays decorative elements spanning the 17th and 19th centuries, showing how French tastes changed over time. These layers reveal the preferences and ways of life of successive owners across generations.

The castle is privately managed and visits should be arranged in advance to ensure access. The gardens are part of the grounds, but checking current availability beforehand is wise since restoration work may affect when areas are open.

The owners have restored the park since 1950 to reflect its early 18th-century design. Sculptures from Hyères were incorporated into the gardens, creating an outdoor art collection within the restored landscape.
