Château du Fief-Milon

Château du Fief-Milon is a fortified building in Vendée with two circular towers flanking the main structure. The construction features strong walls and gates, while a separate watchtower completes the defensive layout.

The fortress was founded in the 14th century and formed part of the defense network around Pouzauges. In the 19th century, brick battlements and machicolations were added to the structure, giving it a new appearance.

The castle shows medieval architecture that was preserved over centuries, revealing how fortified buildings of this time were constructed and used. Visitors can see how the thick walls and towers reflected the defensive needs of the region.

The property sits on elevated terrain in Le Boupère and remains in private hands today. Visits need to be arranged in advance to gain access.

The elevated setting of the castle provides sight lines toward Mont-Mercure and the hills of Upper Vendée. This positioning was deliberately chosen to monitor the surrounding landscape during medieval times.
