Château de Mercuret, Medieval castle in Retournac, France.

The rectangular main house features two projecting towers on the north and south facades, with four corner turrets forming its distinctive outline.

Built before the 15th century as a fortified residence, the castle underwent modifications in the 18th century that transformed its medieval characteristics.

The interior rooms display French ceilings, decorated wooden elements, wall paintings, and fireplaces that reflect regional architectural techniques.

The castle remains a private property with restricted access, located at coordinates 45.1874 latitude and 4.05085 longitude in Haute-Loire.

Three of the original towers were removed during the French Revolution in 1793, altering the castle's initial defensive layout.
