Cime de la Cacia

The Cime de la Cacia reaches an elevation of 620 meters in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, offering views of the Estéron and Riolan waters below.

The summit contains remains of a castellaras, a fortified settlement, with a stone cairn emerging from the boxwood thicket at its peak.

The summit provides a viewpoint of nearby villages including Amirat, La Penne, Saint-Antonin, and Ascros, each nestled in protective positions against northern winds.

The hiking trail to Cime de la Cacia involves a 650-meter elevation gain, requiring approximately 4.5 hours to complete the round trip from April to December.

From the summit, visitors can observe the Mercantour-Argentera mountain chain extending toward the Mediterranean Sea, with peaks reaching 3000 meters in the distance.
