Nabi Shu'ayb

Nabi Shu'ayb is a grave in Upper Galilee, Israel, set on a hillside near Tiberias. The structure features white stone walls and a central dome above the tomb chamber inside.

The present architecture took shape in 1880, when Druze religious leaders coordinated the construction. The building replaced earlier simpler structures at the same location.

Nabi Shu'ayb represents the primary sacred site for the Druze faith, housing the tomb of Prophet Shuayb, known as Jethro in biblical texts.

The site sits in the hills near Tiberias and is reached by roads that run through the region. An annual religious festival takes place between April 25 and April 28, drawing thousands of pilgrims.

An indentation in the stone is interpreted as the prophet's footprint. Visitors pour oil into this spot during their pilgrimage.
