Hamat Gader, Ancient thermal spa and archaeological site in Northern District, Israel.
Located in the Yarmouk River valley, Hamat Gader features multiple thermal springs reaching temperatures of up to 50 degrees Celsius.
The Romans constructed a large bath complex, theater, and synagogue in the 2nd century, which remained active until earthquakes damaged the site.
The discovered mosaic floors and inscriptions in Aramaic and Greek demonstrate the intersection of different cultures at this thermal establishment.
Modern visitors can access both the thermal spa facilities and view archaeological displays, though an entrance fee applies to the resort area.
The site contains a marble chancel with a menorah and maintains thermal springs that have operated continuously since the classical period.
