Northern District, Administrative district in northern Israel
The Northern District is an administrative region extending from the Mediterranean coast in the west to the Golan Heights and Sea of Galilee in the east. It comprises five geographically distinct subregions that together contain cities, towns, and settlements spread across a landscape of mountains, valleys, and water bodies.
After Israel's independence, a modern administrative system was introduced in 1953 to replace the former British Mandate structure. The current borders have remained stable since 1957, establishing this area as a key administrative unit.
