Gaon Stadium, Sports stadium in Tel Aviv, Israel
Gaon Stadium is a former sports venue in Tel Aviv that featured a grass field and seating sections on both sides of the pitch. The facility had a capacity of around 4,000 spectators and was designed with a straightforward layout for football matches.
The stadium was built in 1951 by Maccabi Jaffa members on former farmland and named after benefactors Nessim and Renée Gaon. A major reconstruction took place in 1971, after which the facility served the local football community until its eventual closure.
The venue supported regional football development by serving as home ground for multiple teams, including Maccabi Jaffa, Beitar Tel Aviv, and Shimshon Tel Aviv.
The venue was accessible by public transport and located in a central area of the city. The site was later redeveloped for different purposes and is no longer available for sporting events.
After closure, the site continued serving as a training ground for several local football teams before being transformed. The location eventually became a public garden for community use, replacing its original sports purpose entirely.
