Bhadra Maruti Temple

Bhadra Maruti Temple is a stone structure in Khultabad with elaborate carved decorations covering its walls. Inside, it shelters a reclining statue of Lord Hanuman in a meditative pose.

According to local tradition, King Bhadrasen built this temple after encountering Lord Hanuman while performing devotional songs to Lord Rama. This founding story links the site to ancient royal worship practices in the region.

The temple draws devotees especially during Hindu festivals like Hanuman Jayanti and Ram Navami, when crowds gather to perform traditional prayers and rituals together. These occasions reveal how central this place remains to the local community's spiritual life.

The temple is open daily from sunrise to sunset and offers facilities for religious ceremonies with special arrangements on Saturdays. Visitors should wear modest clothing and respect local customs when entering sacred spaces.

This shrine holds one of only three known reclining Hanuman statues in India, making it an uncommon pilgrimage destination. This rare depiction sets it apart from most other Hanuman temples across the country.
