The emperor's tomb is a modest site in Khuldabad with a marble grave marker inscribed with Quranic verses and surrounded by a marble screen. This protective enclosure was installed in 1911 by Lord Curzon.
The emperor ruled India for roughly five decades until his death in 1707, which marked a turning point for Mughal power. He chose this location to be buried near his spiritual teacher Sheikh Zainuddin.
