Navlakha Temple, Ghumli, Hindu temple in Ghumli, India
The Navlakha Temple features a foundation measuring 45.72 by 30.48 meters, making it one of the largest temple bases in Gujarat.
The Jethwa rulers constructed this temple in the 12th century as a dedication to the Sun deity within their capital city of Ghumli.
The temple walls display intricate carvings of elephants engaged in battle, along with sculptures of Brahma, Saraswati, Shiva, Parvati, and Lakshmi Narayan.
Visitors can reach the temple by flying to Jamnagar or Porbandar airports, followed by a road journey through Bhanvad, located 8 kilometers from the site.
The temple earned its name Navlakha due to its construction cost of nine lakh coins, reflecting the grand investment in its architectural details.
