Sarangapani Temple

Sarangapani Temple is a Hindu sanctuary in Kumbakonam with multiple shrines arranged across a large compound and a distinctive 12-story tower decorated with carved stone details and figures. The layout includes several courtyards and passages that guide visitors through the different sections.

Construction began in the 10th century under Chola dynasty rule as a religious center for pilgrims and worshippers. Over the medieval period, the temple received support and expansions from various South Indian rulers.
