Kangju Kangri, Mountain summit in Leh Tehsil, India.
Kangju Kangri rises to 6,725 meters in elevation as the highest peak of the Pangong Range, overlooking the tri-headed Kangju glacier and Pangong Lake.
The first documented climb of this mountain occurred in 1983 when members of the Indo-Tibet Border Police and local army personnel reached its summit.
The mountain stands within Ladakh territory, where Buddhist monasteries and nomadic settlements reflect centuries of adaptation to high-altitude environments.
Climbers require an Inner Line Permit and must plan expeditions during summer months, establishing multiple camps between 4,800 and 6,000 meters for proper acclimatization.
The mountain features a prominence of 2,147 meters and ranks second among 104 peaks in Leh while maintaining third position out of 246 peaks in Ladakh.
