Vadeshwaram Temple, Hindu temple in Aroli, Kannur district, India.

Vadeshwaram Temple is a Hindu shrine located on Keecheri hill, featuring traditional Kerala architectural style with detailed stone carving and sculptural decoration throughout its structure. The sanctum displays intricate craftsmanship, with carved elements visible in multiple areas that showcase the skilled handiwork invested in its construction.

The shrine was established approximately 1500 years ago during the reign of Mushika king Vatukavarma, documented in the historical text Mushikavamsa Mahakavya. Royal patronage during this ancient period shaped its early character as a major religious center.

The temple serves as a daily place of worship where visitors observe rituals dedicated to Shiva as Vadeshwarathappan and witness devotees offering personal prayers. The various deity representations carved into the walls reflect long-standing forms of spiritual practice maintained within this sanctuary.

The shrine sits about 150 meters east of the National Highway and is easily reached by car, with Calicut International Airport providing the nearest flight access. The approach to the temple passes through local roads that visitors can explore to better understand the surrounding area.

The sanctum features an eight-petalled Ashtadala design, a structural pattern not found elsewhere in this way across Indian temples. This unusual geometric arrangement gives the inner chamber a distinctive spatial quality that observant visitors may notice.
