Schloss Hallegg

Schloss Hallegg is a Renaissance castle in Klagenfurt-Wölfnitz featuring a complex layout with two inner courtyards. One courtyard contains a three-story arcade, while a five-sided space displays decorative details throughout.

The Hallegg family held the estate as a princely fief from 1198 until 1433, when ownership changed and the building was transformed into a Renaissance residence in 1546. This renovation shaped the architectural character visible in the structure today.

The chapel shows dedications to San Francesco, reflecting the spiritual role the place held. These religious elements remain visible in the building's character today.

The castle operates as an event venue with multiple rooms suitable for celebrations and a small chapel available for religious ceremonies. Outdoor spaces around the grounds allow visitors to explore and enjoy the surroundings.

The second inner courtyard displays sgraffito decorations from 1547 featuring coats of arms, showcasing the artistry of that period. These wall paintings reveal the owner's investment in fine craftsmanship and remain among the building's most detailed artistic features.
