Pfarrkirche St. Antonius von Padua, Parish church in Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus, Vienna, Austria.
The parish church of Saint Anthony of Padua is a place of worship built in Romanesque Revival style, featuring two prominent bell towers and a rose window with a dove representing the Holy Spirit. Inside, the space contains multiple altars and houses an extensive collection of relics displayed throughout.
The building opened in 1893 after designs by architect Ludwig Zatzka and was originally part of a poor and sick asylum complex run by the Sisters of Mercy. In 1904, additional bell towers were added that significantly transformed its exterior appearance.
The church served as a Roman Catholic place of worship before transitioning to serve the Romanian Orthodox community in 2014. Today it plays an important role in the spiritual life of the Romanian Orthodox parish in the neighborhood.
The church is located in Vienna's 15th district at Antonsplatz 21 and welcomes visitors during service times and general opening hours. Planning your visit with extra time allows you to explore the interior decoration and relic collection at a comfortable pace.
The tower clocks installed in the building have never been operational and always show the same time. This detail reflects how the church has preserved evidence of its transformation over the more than a century since its expansion.
