Kaiserklamm, Natural limestone canyon in Brandenberg, Austria
The Kaiserklamm features a one-kilometer trail along limestone walls with the Brandenberger Ache river flowing through narrow rock formations.
The canyon paths were constructed during the 16th century for wood transportation, allowing logs to float downstream through the Brandenberger Ache river.
The Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria gave his name to this canyon after visiting the area with Empress Elisabeth during their travels.
The gorge remains closed from November to April due to winter conditions, with access permitted from May through October for hiking and water activities.
The limestone walls of the canyon reflect a green shimmer onto the water, creating a natural display of colors throughout the rock formations.
