Art/Brut Center Gugging

The Art/Brut Center Gugging features 1300 square meters of exhibition space displaying works from creators outside traditional art education and training.

The center opened in 2006 on the grounds of a former psychiatric institution where patients began creating artworks in the 1970s.

The museum exhibits works by notable Art Brut creators including Adolf Wölfli, Aloïse Corbaz, August Walla, and Johann Hauser through rotating exhibitions.

The center combines several facilities including the House of Artists, museum gugging, galerie gugging, and atelier gugging under one cultural complex.

Residents of the House of Artists create and sell their works through the gallery, maintaining financial independence through their artistic production.
