It houses administrative offices, a public library on the third floor of the tower, and functions as the central governmental facility for the town.
History
Prince Ludwig August von Sachsen-Coburg commissioned this hunting lodge in 1884. The city of Schladming acquired the building in 1940 and converted it to serve municipal functions.

The hunting room on the ground floor preserves its original paintings by Otto Recknagel and shows how the building connected to aristocratic traditions of that era. This decorated space offers insight into the tastes and customs of those who once used it.
