Saints Peter and Paul Church, Protestant church building in Schladming, Austria.
Saints Peter and Paul Church stands as the largest Protestant church in Styria, featuring traditional hallenkirche architecture with round-arched facades and a prominent tower constructed in the Rundbogenstil period style.
The church traces its origins to 1522 when early evangelical services began among miners influenced by Martin Luther's teachings, making it one of Austria's earliest Reformation sites before the current structure was completed in 1862.
As a designated protected monument, the church preserves four panels from a late 16th-century Protestant wing altarpiece depicting Saints Peter and Paul alongside crucifixion scenes, representing the enduring Protestant heritage in Catholic Austria.
Located at Martin-Luther-Straße in central Schladming, the church offers Sunday services at 10 AM and 5:30 PM, serving approximately 3,800 Protestant community members with seating capacity for 1,000 worshippers.
The church houses one of the few remaining organs built by Ludwig Mauracher in 1861 and an altar designed by Christian Friedrich von Leins depicting Christ at the Mount of Olives.
