Schloss Weitwörth, Historic castle in Nußdorf am Haunsberg, Austria

The castle consists of a main building with arcades connecting to a chapel on the north side and stands amid extensive gardens.

Fürsterzbischof Max Gandolf Graf Kuenburg constructed the castle as a hunting lodge in 1671, with major renovations occurring in 1777 and 1892.

The structure served as a district court from 1821 to 1867, marking a period of administrative importance for the Salzach region.

The castle remains in private ownership of the Auersperg family and exterior views are available from the nearby train station Weitwörth-Nußdorf.

A granite stone near the Jägerhaus commemorates Emperor Franz Joseph's visit with Crown Prince Rudolf and Archduchess Gisela in 1868.
