La Fonderie, Industry and history museum in Molenbeek, Belgium.

La Fonderie occupies a former foundry building and displays machines, tools, and equipment showing how manufacturing processes changed in Brussels over time. The collection spans multiple rooms and documents different phases of industrial work that took place in this location.

The museum opened in 1983 on the site of Compagnie des Bronzes de Bruxelles, which operated as a metal manufacturing facility from 1854 to 1979. Its creation marked an effort to preserve the industrial past of this location after the company shut down.

The space displays four industrial sectors through bilingual information in French and Dutch, with additional English available for international visitors. Walking through, you see how manufacturing shaped daily life in this neighborhood.

The museum is housed in a former industrial building, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended for your visit. The exhibition is fairly compact, making it possible to see most of the displays in just a few hours.

The permanent exhibition uses the original lathe room, preserving the authentic industrial environment of the former bronze manufacturing company. Visitors walk through a space that remains largely unchanged from its working days.
