Tsankov Kamak Reservoir

The Tsankov Kamak Reservoir extends across 12 kilometers with a width of 468 meters, storing 110.9 million cubic meters of water at 688.5 meters elevation.

The construction of this water infrastructure project started in 2004 and reached completion in 2010, marking a new phase in Bulgaria's hydroelectric development.

The reservoir forms an integral part of the Dospat-Vacha Cascade system, reflecting Bulgaria's commitment to sustainable energy production through water resources.

The facility includes two Francis turbine generators, each producing 40 MW of power, contributing to an annual electricity generation of 185 gigawatt-hours.

This reservoir features Bulgaria's first double curvature arch dam in cupola shape, with specialized spillway blocks managing flood discharge of 1,425 cubic meters per second.
