New Brunswick Botanical Garden, Botanical garden in Edmundston, Canada
The New Brunswick Botanical Garden is a 7-hectare property containing over 80,000 plants arranged along the Madawaska River. The grounds are divided into distinct themed sections that showcase different gardening styles and plant varieties.
The garden opened in 1993 and faced financial challenges until the University of Moncton Campus at Edmundston took over operations. This support ensured the site's continued development and long-term stability.
The garden features mosaiculture displays that transform living plants into colorful artistic designs. Visitors can see how plants become part of larger visual compositions throughout the grounds.
The garden is open daily from early May through the end of summer and can be accessed from Exit 8 on New Brunswick Route 2. Visitors requiring wheelchair accessibility should arrange this in advance to ensure it is available.
The property contains one of the largest arboretums east of Montreal, with an extensive collection of tree species spread across a woodland area. Each May, approximately 10,000 tulip bulbs bloom alongside an impressive rose collection throughout the grounds.
