Six Mile Lake Provincial Park

Six Mile Lake Provincial Park is a protected area covering more than 200 hectares with three sandy beaches and multiple waterfront sections for camping and recreation. The landscape consists of wooded terrain surrounding the lake, with room for hiking, boating, and water activities throughout the grounds.

The site became an official protected area in 1958 to preserve the natural landscape and its habitats. A boundary expansion occurred in 2004 to accommodate growing visitor use and protect additional ecologically important sections.

The park offers visitors a way to connect with the natural world through direct experience of local ecosystems and wildlife in their habitat. Walking through the grounds, people encounter the landscape much as it has existed for generations, giving a sense of continuity with the region's natural life.

The grounds offer numerous camping spots with various amenities, boat access, and canoe rentals for water activities. Visitors seeking hiking can choose from several marked trails of different lengths throughout the area.

The grounds shelter several rare plant and reptile species that are seldom found elsewhere in Ontario. These uncommon residents make the location an important site for preserving the region's biological diversity.
