The Lords of Hünenberg established Wildenburg Castle in the 13th century while serving as vassals for the counts of Kyburg and Habsburg.
The castle played a role in regional conflicts, as its lords participated in the Battle of Sempach in 1386 alongside Habsburg Austria.
The castle grounds include picnic tables and grilling facilities, with a marked trail leading from the parking area to the ruins.
Following its destruction after the Battle of Sempach, the castle structure served as a source of building materials during the 16th century.
