Pizzo Pioltone rises to 2,612 meters above sea level, presenting a prominent peak within the Pennine Alps near the Swiss-Italian border.

The mountain has served as a natural boundary marker between Switzerland and Italy, contributing to territorial demarcation throughout Alpine history.

Local communities in both Switzerland and Italy refer to this peak by different names: Pizzo Pioltone in Italian regions and Camoscellahorn in German-speaking areas.

Hikers can reach the summit through marked T1 classification trails, with the nearest base point located in the Swiss village of Gondo.

The mountain maintains a topographic prominence of 183 meters and stands as the 25th highest peak among 153 summits in the Brig region.
