Les Ordons

Les Ordons is a mountain summit in the Swiss Jura, rising above the surrounding landscape. The views from the top extend across multiple mountain ranges and plains toward the Alps on one side and the Black Forest on the other.

The summit became important when a television transmitter station was built to improve communications across the mountainous terrain. This installation extended radio and television signals to remote areas that previously had poor coverage.

The area has deep roots in traditional watchmaking, with artisans continuing their craft in workshops throughout the Jura region. This heritage is visible in the way locals relate to precision work and craftsmanship as part of everyday life.

The summit is accessible via the Col des Rangiers mountain pass, which connects the towns of Delémont and Porrentruy in northern Switzerland. Weather conditions affect visibility significantly, so clear days are best for enjoying the panoramic views.

On clear days, visitors can see four countries at once from this location: Switzerland, France, Germany, and Austria. This rare geographical alignment makes the summit special for those interested in border geography.
